These next steps will help you get ready to participate in our lab.
0. Access to Videos
Please complete the following steps to initiate your access to the lab onboarding videos.

1. GETTING STARTED
Please complete the following onboarding steps and familiarize yourself with these resources
that will be key to your project or manuscript.

2. RESEARCH CLOUD
In the lab, you will find yourself getting a better sense of understanding how fluid and flexible you are being as you pursue your research, your manuscript, your scholarly project, and/or your MSSRP project. You will learn that in research, flexibility and adaptability are crucial, and what you end up discovering or innovating is often not what you started out with in mind, yet something meaningful that has emerged on the journey. You will learn and experience that general concept in research and innovation. You will grow. Please watch this video as an introduction to this concept.
3a. CITI TRAINING (MCW)
Have you had CITI training? If yes, please change your CITI login to your MCW email address if you are at MCW and add MCW as an institution affiliation on the CITI website and complete the MCW requirements in CITI (Biomedical Research and Good Clinical Practices Course), which are IN ADDITION to any CITI training you have had at a previous institution. Specifically use “Biomedical Research” as the type of course if you are required to do any Refresher course.
If you have not had CITI training, please sign up with your MCW email address if you are at MCW
and complete the training at your earliest convenience.

3b. CITI TRAINING (FIU)
If you are at FIU, here are the steps to completing the CITI training (please upload completion certificate to this link ): Please complete numbers 2 to 6 from the FIU list of options below.

3c. CITI TRAINING (MDC)
If you are at Miami Dade College, here are the steps to completing the CITI training
(please upload completion certificate to this link):
To complete the CITI Training, please access the Human Subject Training link within MDC's Strategic Planning and Testing Website at https://www.mdc.edu/institutionalresearch/conducting-research-at-mdc/Links to an external site. to take the CITI Program Social-Behavioral -Education SBE Basic Course. You also must complete the Biomedical Research and Good Clinical Practices Course for our lab. To complete the CITI Training before the first course exam do the following:
- Access the website above;
- Click on CITI Program Social-Behavioral -Education SBE Basic Course;
- Click on the Register button in the top right corner;
- Click Select Your Organization Affiliation;
- Start typing Miami Dade College in the search bar and click on Miami Dade College School of Science;
- Click the boxes "I agree to the terms of service" and
- Use your myMDC.net Username as a username, create a password, and follow the instructions
- Please specifically also do the courses
- (1,2,6 – paste the names for these, consider doing the public health course as optional - 4);
- (there are a lot of them) to register;
- "I affirm that I am an affiliate of Miami Dade College School of Science";

4. Online Folder System
Please email Rushabh Shah (rshah@mcw.edu), let him know you are a new Brown Virtual Lab member,
and request to be added to the lab Sharepoint.
CC: Dr. Brown (drbrowncares@gmail.com) on the email.
5. IRB Connection
MCW:
If you are at MCW, are you on eBridge? If not, once you have access to teams, please sign up using instructions in the document at this link: eBridge, CITI, & MCW Banking Guidance.docx.
